The Organisation of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA) continues to promote peace, friendship, and solidarity among the Armed Forces of Africa through the organization of continental sporting competitions. Guided by the CISM motto, "Friendship Through Sports," OSMA uses sport as a platform to strengthen military cooperation, foster mutual understanding, and encourage excellence among its 54 member nations.
The African Military Games (AMG) remain OSMA's flagship multi-sport event, with the inaugural edition successfully hosted in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1998. The Games brought together military athletes from across the continent, laying the foundation for greater unity and cooperation through sport.
Among OSMA's premier championships is the African Military Football Championship (CAMFOOT), which has grown into one of Africa's most competitive military sporting events. The championship has reached its 8th edition, attracting widespread participation and showcasing the continent's football talent.
The African Military Boxing Championship (CAMBOXE) has also become one of OSMA's hallmark competitions, consistently delivering high-quality contests while promoting discipline, excellence, and camaraderie among military athletes.
In addition, OSMA continues to expand its sporting calendar through competitions such as CAMBASKET (Basketball), CAMJUDO (Judo), Cross Country, and Athletics, reaffirming its commitment to developing military sports and using sport as a powerful instrument for peace, unity, and friendship across Africa.
