The Organisation of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA) operates through five Regional Liaison Offices, strategically established to coordinate and promote military sports across its 54 member nations. Representing the regions of North, West, Central, East, and Southern Africa, these offices serve as the vital link between the OSMA Headquarters in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and member countries.
Each Regional Liaison Office is headed by a President who also serves as a Vice-President of OSMA, ensuring that every region is represented in the Organisation's leadership and decision-making processes. Working closely with the President, Secretary General, and Executive Board, the Vice-Presidents contribute to the implementation of OSMA's strategic objectives and the promotion of military sports throughout the continent.
The Liaison Offices are responsible for coordinating regional activities, facilitating communication with member nations, supporting the organisation of military sports competitions, and encouraging participation in OSMA championships, Assemblies, and technical programmes. They also monitor the implementation of decisions adopted by the General Assembly and Board of Directors while providing technical support to member countries hosting continental events.
OSMA's governance structure also guarantees continuity of leadership. In the event of a vacancy in the office of the President, the senior-most President of the Regional Liaison Offices, serving as a Vice-President of OSMA, automatically assumes the role of Acting President until elections are held in accordance with the Organisation's Statutes.
Through effective regional coordination, strong leadership, and close collaboration with member countries, the five Regional Liaison Offices play a pivotal role in advancing OSMA's mission of promoting friendship, solidarity, peace, and excellence through military sport across Africa.
